Are we about to see the result of the biggest FAFO of all time? Has demented Joe Biden's parting shot "FA" legacy of permission for Ukraine to use US missiles deep into Russia given the inbound Trump administration a massive "find out" challenge?
And now a day later we learn that the UK-made storm shadow cruise missile has been deployed to disrupt the 10k North Korean troops.
Putin can use the opportunity to encourage/force Trump to show his hand.
It was obvious from week one of this conflict that Russia was holding back and hoping that those involved would be mindful of the old truism that "a good biggun will always beat a good littleun".
So Google this phrase: "Nato deal with Russia concerning borders and Ukraine" ( link) and remind yourselves of NATO's "deal" with Russia over German unification concerning borders, and a neutral buffer zone.
You should not need to be a Russian apologist or sympathizer to understand that Russia feels it has justified grievances that have been flatly ignored for a long time.
Unsurprisingly, NATO thinks otherwise:

Disruption by Russia has been a fixation of Western security agencies since the second World War. The novichok incident and polonium poisoning are two reported examples and there is this type of incident going on in the UK.
The government is grateful for a compliant BBC that does as its told, and does not discuss or encourage speculation of the awkwardness currently developing. The removal of the Russia today tv service from Freeview a couple of years back was inevitable. But the UK has not responded with a rethink of the once all powerful and influential BBC World Service, and has missed a huge trick. Instead we have the flaccid GBNews, with the most tedious advertising schedule ever seen on TV anywhere. It displays a curious deathwish by inviting lefty studio guest commentators with strange opinions that get straight up the noses of the vast majority of its audience.
But mention the word "deal" and we move into in Trump territory, so while any deal clearly needs revising and resetting, taking out a US embassy as a reminder of "vulnerability realism" could make strategic sense for Putin who understands Trump better than most, especially when connected to the warning of the revision of the nuke trigger threshold.
The world has rarely been in a more delicately poised situation yet is cursed with pathetic leadership from Biden's administration, and childish interventions by Keir Starmer pledging that Britain stands side by side with Zelensky.
This is not the hill that we wanted to die on, and one hopes that the British military has more sense than it's commander in chief - and has contingency plans to quickly neutralize Starmer's inept strategy when it all goes wrong. But the complete absence of any coherent political opposition to step into the vacuum in the UK is a big problem. The subversion of our civil service and establishment means that the WEF globalists are in control of uniparty politics.
But are we close to a point where half of the country would accept emergency interim leadership in an international crisis, by Trump's team? Such has been the absolutely unmitigated dreadfulness of Starmer's government and the EU's messy meltdown with France and Germany going full-fascist in order to crush rising populist opposition.
Talk about interesting times.
